The May General Membership Meeting Will Be Pulled Out of a Hat
May 8, 2009 – 2:06 pm by smwolfejrOur May 11 General Membership meeting will be a very informative meeting even though we’re not quite sure what we’re doing, under normal circumstances we hear from our representatives to Olympia but it seems the Budget Crisis may throw a wrench in our plans as the Governor may call them back for a Special Session. We hope if a Special Session is called it is called for after May 11, in which case we should hear reports from Reps. Pettigrew and Santos and Sen. Kline.
In addition to hearing from our Olympia delegation we will have a plethora of office seekers wanting you attention. As this is the last meeting before our June 8 Endorsement Meeting we will be allowing as many candidates as possible to briefly address us. However, to add a little twist we will be testing them on how well they think on their feet. Instead of calling for questions from the audience we will pull one question for each candidate out of a hat. In order to do this we will need your help by submitting questions for the candidates. You can submit your questions eitheras a comment to this post or via e-mail info@37dems.org, we will also accept questions submitted at the meeting if they are received prior to it being called to order. The questions should not be for a specific candidate but can be for a specific office (e.g. County Executive, Mayor, etc.), feel free to submit as many questions as you can think of and please tell us if you wish us to say who the question is from.
On a final note, this will be the last meeting of the 37th Legislative District Democrats at the Central Area Senior Center, in June we will be at our new location the Rainier Valley Cultural Center. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of the staff at the CASC who have made us feel welcome over the years that we have met in their facility. Thank You.
